We've been running game servers since before the Gaming Club's inception. Today, we maintain servers for most of the games that are popular with our community. All these servers were made possible by our friends at Electronic Student Services and Network Support Services.

This is our general TF2 server.  It usually has at least a few people on it.  It is currently one of our more popular servers.

This is our Counter Strike 1.6 server.  This is what gave the club it's start and built most of the community.  However, with the recent graduation of most of our CS players it has fallen by the wayside in favor of more popular games in our community now.

Technical Information Network Connection

The Appalachian State Gaming Club servers are connected straight to the internet. We have a dedicated pipe capped at about 12 megabit/s. Appalachain State itself has a dedicated gigabit ethernet connection through NCREN capable of putting through about 450 MB/s (partial OC-12). The servers are located in the ESS server room in the John E. Thomas building on the ASU campus.

Server Hardware 

Thanks to our friends at Dell and their gracious donation of two PowerEdge 1430 servers we now have some big iron to run our game servers on.   Specs are as follow:

2 x Quad Core Intel Xeon Processors at 2.0Ghz
4GB DDR2 667 FB-DIMM RAM
2 x 80GB SATAII Hard Drives
Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit NICs

For our operating system we run Slackware Linux 12.1.
