I just got off the phone. Unfortunately, the Student Union pulled the trigger before I'd come to a conclusion. Even if the campus is open tomorrow, they will be on a skeleton crew and simply will not be able to host us. They cancelled our room reservation.
Perhaps a blessing in disguise, this will allow us to get the word to more people and make the next event bigger and better. Some of the work that went into this LAN will be rolled into the next one, giving us time to focus on the things that matter most to you. Watch out for an update after the weekend, once I dig myself out.
Stay safe!

A New Year and some big changes
We've made some changes for this new year, new decade, and RE-newed club. Firstly, and most obviously, the exact name of the LAN has been changed. We felt that it was important to note that this is a pretty big reset. Door fees, prizes, and the tournaments have all changed in a big way. Check the LAN page for more information on that. In addition, it felt somewhat hollow to continue adding roman numerals onto a LAN series that had changed so much from the first AppalachLANs and struggled with success in the last year.
We've been working closely with the Student Union to hone and refine our fee and prize structure. I'm please to annouce that rather than changing an all-encompassing fee at the door, we can instead charge an entry fee based the tournament. This means prizes more taylored to the tournament, and people not interested in competative play can enjoy a cheaper door fee!
Club meetings will be no longer scheduled on a recurring basis. Instead, we will meet reguarly for administrative purposes for anyone interested in the inner-workings. We will schedule special events on a case-by-case basis, but more frequently in the past. Rather than showing up every week, watch the website for the announcement of a mini-LAN party, guest speaker, or social event. We hope this will make meetings more fun for you and easier to plan for us.
